Program Year 2010-2011

2011 FLI Program

In 2010-2011 The Future Leaders Institute delivered a 9- month intensive program run in collaboration with four Bay Area high schools that gave students the opportunity to create social change projects based on their personal passions. FLI provided students with the structure, support and guidance necessary to turn their passions into social action projects impacting our communities.

FLI successfully graduated 68 students this year with a staff of a new part-time Program Coordinator, new part-time Operations Coordinator, 4 “FLI Guides” (FLI- trained teachers in the schools where FLI worked), a volunteer Executive Director, an active Board, and more than 30 volunteer Project Consultants.

Program Year 2008-2009

From FLI’s humble beginning of just six students in 2004, FLI has moved on to serve more than 350 students in the close of 2009. The 2008-2009 program year was a great year of new collaborations and innovative infrastructure changes to support FLI in a time of recession and reduced school budgets.  Partnering with resources from SAGE, foundations, schools, mentors, community organizations, corporations and other individuals greatly assisted in the growth of the program and organization this year.
