Start changing the world today simply by being you!

There are many ways that you can help FLI in its mission to build bold humanitarian leaders. Below learn about how you can help us as a Project Consultant, Mentor, Community Partner or Donor.

Becoming a Project Consultant

FLI Project Consultants support FLI students with their projects and questions they should formulate as part of their curriculum requirements. Students connect directly with Project Consultants at FLI events once a semester. If unable to attend those events, Project Consultants can speak in the classrooms on more flexible dates. To participate in the events or classrooms, there are 30-minute orientation meetings.

Project Consultants are “on-call” throughout a student’s 10-month FLI journey to answer questions via email or meet with a student and their FLI Guide to help provide support and feedback for their work.

Becoming a Mentor

FLI Mentors engage with FLI students who request or may need a mentor for their projects. In addition to the tasks of a Project Consultant, Mentors are interviewed and work with individual students or groups at least twice a month. As a mentor you will be a part of many of their epiphanies as you guide them through their social action initiatives.

Becoming a Community Organization Partner

FLI started its Community Organization Partner Initiative to provide local organizations and businesses a way to directly plug into the FLI network. Community Partners are local organizations and businesses committed to helping improve their neighborhoods, communities and the world. Partners provide FLI students whose passions and interests are aligned with their missions with feedback, guidance and help in successfully completing their projects. In exchange, FLI students volunteer to support the work of a Community Partner, donate project proceeds and form long-term, lasting relationships which benefit students as they launch their professional careers as change-makers.
Some students have raised thousands of dollars for causes and organizations throughout the world, including:

  • Over $8,000.00 for Beads for Life
  • Over $10,000 for Vital Life Services
  • Over $4,000 for the Baby Elmo Project

Students have gone on to volunteer, intern and receive awards all in the name of supporting Community Partners.
